False Evidence Appearing Real

by Beca Lewis August 9, 2010

A little green tomato fell off one of my plants and I put in on my window ledge to ripen. Days later, I noticed it wasn’t there. I didn’t move it, Del didn’t move it, where was it? I took my rings off and put them on the sink. When I went to look for [...]

Acting On Expectations

by Beca Lewis July 27, 2010

We have two bird feeders that we bring in at night because although they are technically critter proof, there is nothing that can stop a raccoon that has all night to skillfully pick out the seeds one at a time. In the morning, if I forget to put them out as soon as dawn breaks, [...]

Don’t Say “That’s Enough”

by Beca Lewis July 13, 2010

We have trained ourselves to live at a certain level of abundance and not to rise too much higher, or at least do it really, really, slowly, and in the timing and manner of our choice. This means that although infinite Love is providing ever-expanding abundance for every one of us in every moment, because [...]

Don’t Go To The Worldview Store

by Beca Lewis July 5, 2010

The worldview survives by selling us the story that things go wrong, that there isn’t enough, that people are to blame, that we need and need and need some more. It is just like a store, plying us with messages that make us want to come in and buy. It only exists because we keep accepting it and agreeing with it, and stopping in all the time to pick up the latest version of lack, fear, blame, and guilt.

The Garden Of Life

by Beca Lewis June 20, 2010

Since my dad passed away, I have had the privilege of going through all his papers. He saved them all. In fact, if there hadn’t been a mudslide into our parent’s basement one year, ruining multiple boxes, I imagine it would be many years before I would be done. I am sure he saved most [...]

What The Mind Knows

by Beca Lewis June 2, 2010

Sitting on the back porch, I kept glancing over to my right where I could see a brownish “haze” under the weeping spruce tree. It kept distracting me because I couldn’t figure out what it was. Thinking that the rain or the early morning light was doing something funny to my vision, I looked, and [...]

“All That I Have Is Thine”

by Beca Lewis May 18, 2010

The story goes that the young man who had left home and wasted his inheritance returned home humbled and grateful. His father celebrated his return without a trace of punishment or rebuke. His brother was dismayed. He had not left home, but had stayed and served his father well. Why was there no celebration for [...]

Witness The Master Multi-Tasker At Work

by Beca Lewis May 4, 2010

I heard their honking first. Widening my vision, I saw three geese, one leading, and two walking together, honking as they waddled over the rise to their little pond. One saw me and slowed down to watch me as I jogged/walked by. We kept glancing back at each other, kindred spirits in the celebration of [...]

Counterfeit Attraction

by Beca Lewis April 18, 2010

When I was ten my parents purchased their first home. As soon as we settled in, my dad planted a little garden. Every summer night he would come home from work, change into his shorts and he and I would tour that little garden together. Now that we have purchased a home, my love for [...]

Coming Alive

by Beca Lewis April 1, 2010

“Ask not what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive… then go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Howard Thurman This is one of those quotes that sounds lovely, we may agree with, but then have to step back and ask, “And how do I come [...]

Spring Cleaning Thinking

by Beca Lewis March 16, 2010

Light does that. It reveals.

What happens next is up to us. Either we can let the dirt remain, or we can clean it up.

Here’s where the many choices, or free will, comes into play. It is the choices of what we want to perceive or think about what is revealed, and what we choose to do about it.

Our Bodies And The Grace Of Movement

by Beca Lewis March 4, 2010

Perhaps we forget that since everything that is present is the presence of God, or Mind, or Spirit then what appears as our body and all its parts is not separate from God. Remembering this we don’t negate our bodies and turn away from them thinking that someday we will vacate them and become spiritual. Instead, we recognize that what appears as a body has its substance in Spirit the same as everything else that we see and experience.

Frozen Moments

by Beca Lewis February 19, 2010

We were shoveling snow – again. We had so much snow that some of the piles we were tossing snow onto were way over my head. As we shoveled, I thought of my garden buried under the many feet of snow. “Will I ever see it again,” I wondered. I knew the answer of course. [...]

Four teenagers went to see a staging of the play called “Our Town” as guests of the show Sunday Morning. The question the show wanted answered was, “would this play resonant with the ‘twitter and instant gratification’ generation”. After the play the two boys and two girls were interviewed and the question, based on the [...]

Spiritual Inspiration in The Power of Dissolving

by Beca Lewis January 18, 2010

The world is dissolving, drip, drip, drip, right outside my window. It’s a January thaw. The temperature has risen above freezing, and when the sun comes out its warmth increases the dripping and dissolving. The tops of the lights along the garden path have appeared where just yesterday they were completely buried beneath the snow. [...]
